We love paper straws and we know you do too.<br />
You are going to love them even more now. These little tissue pom poms on the straws are to die for cute. They are so much fun to make and quite addictive. When my kids saw them, they thought if you turn them upside down they were like hula skirts!! Anyone planning a Luau?<br />
Have a look at my post over at <a href="http://www.fiestaresistance.net/2012/05/super-straws.html">Fiesta Resistance</a>. Let me know if you have fun and use these. I'd love to see your pics!Poppylop Partieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08755975314945822185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7715595171702763921.post-85123055448331800642012-04-21T17:53:00.000-07:002012-04-21T17:53:37.234-07:00Inspiration<div>
Some people wonder how I come up with my inspiration. Truely, there is no one thing. It maybe something someone says in passing. Perhaps something catches my eye and my imagniation gets carried away with it. What I can tell you is that it is usually my children or other children that really get me doing something. Most of my incitation designs have come from parties that my children would LOVE to have. We could have a party every day the way they think. I wonder where they get that from???? I also love to hear from fans.<br />
So what's your most favourite source of inspiration and what are you crushing on lately?</div>Poppylop Partieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08755975314945822185noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7715595171702763921.post-91673716453213987322012-04-21T17:45:00.000-07:002012-04-21T17:45:10.707-07:00The Perfect TSo I have fallen deeply in love with my <a href="http://www.silhouetteamerica.com/">Silhouette </a>machine!! I only have the SD, but am constantly amazed at the things it can do. Thankfully I have no shortage of imagination (it keeps me up at night). So, in order to keep up with the vivid and active imagination of mine, I take it to the Silhouette and get creative. I have been busy with tags for parties, invitations and gifts, but recently, I discovered heat Transfer!! (insert Angels singing) I am convinced that there is nothing I can't do with it. I started by putting pretty little designs on the litte girls plain t-shirts. Then I thought - wow, I could make Birthday shirts for the birthday child with cute little sayings. They are so adorable. Then one day a flash of lightening hit, ok, so maybe it was just someone turning on the lights, when I realized, with this stuff I can replicate children's drawings onto their shirts!! So I did. My son hasn't taken his off - except to have it washed. He is so proud that he can show off his art work.<br />

This is such an amazing way to keep your child's art work where it can be seen (and should be seen). Three pages all stamped with offical CSIS letter head and stamps. Very intriguing. My boy was invited to a birthday party at "<a href="http://www.diefenbunker.ca/">The Deifenbunker</a>" For those of you who aren't familiar with the place, it was built during the "<a href="http://www.cbc.ca/history/SECTIONSE1EP15CH1LE.html">Cold War</a>" by John Deifenbaker, the Prime Minister at the time. It was a top secret building that would house all the important government officials in the event of a nuclear attack. The building is now used as a museum that chronicals an important time period in Canadian history. Also, a fabulous venue for a Spy birthday party for a bunch of 6-9 year olds. I was very curious how this would play out (and had never been to<br />
the Deifenbunker) so I tagged along.<br />

We were met at the main entrance by our guide who promtly ran the kids through <br />
Basic Training exercises, and then we were ushered into the building that where our mission would take place. The children were suited up, picked "secret agent" names and were told about how to be stelth like and super quiet. We were on the lookout for Agent X. We were guided through rooms which were still set-up as they would have been. The children were able to get hands on with the equipment, looking in drawers and touch things they have never seen before (you know, like a typewritter).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-O-l6n_zz50w/T4tyhmcT8HI/AAAAAAAAATI/uSh1k6OhMuM/s1600/IMG_0140.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-O-l6n_zz50w/T4tyhmcT8HI/AAAAAAAAATI/uSh1k6OhMuM/s320/IMG_0140.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
The children took their mission very seriously. Ducking and dodging to keep out of sight from the secret agent. The guide played it up too. <br />
The two and a half hour event was well received by the children. They all were talking about having their next party there and who they would invite. It was fabulous for children who have great imagination.<br />

A party is 12 children for $140.00. You will need to supply the cake and you can bring food. There is also a pizza delivery option that was not mentioned to the birthday mom, but you may want to ask. Also, two things you should know is that for the younger children it can be a little scary, especially when they first walk in 2. there is a lot of walking. 4 floors up and down. Be prepared in comfortable shoes. Finally, there is no pre-party set-up. You may want to leave the loot bags in the car and give them out when you leave. You will have to carry things around for a while.<br />

I have to thank<a href="http://www.jessicasprague.com/"> Jessica Sprague</a> and her fabulous, amazing and talented designers for their wonderful tutorials, workshops and classes. They have been my inspiration and have helped me bring my dreams to realities. I have so much more to learn and look forward to each of my upcoming classes (check out my 'Wish List" lol)<br />
<br />
I am looking for some new ideas so if you have any themes that you would like to see or have, let me know. I look forward to the challenge.<br />

In the party world invitations are everything. The announce the party, set the mood and theme and give the guests ideas for gifts and of what is to come. It can build excitement and anticipation. Having the right invitation is very important these days. Back in the Day -(as my hubby would say) our mom's picked up paper invitations that were pretty generic and they added the details. Not so now....<br />
<br />
With the development of digital technology that generic invitation is a thing of the past. All Hail the great <a href="http://success.adobe.com/en/na/sem/products/photoshop.html?kw=p&sdid=FISLS&skwcid=TC|22182|CS5%20photoshop||S|b|7873473618">PHOTOSHOP!!</a> It really has changed the industry in many ways. There is almost nothing that can't be created on this program and it's counterpart <a href="http://www.adobe.com/products/illustrator.html">Illustrator</a>. I have been lucky enough to have these programs now for a while, but haven't really had the time to play and explore them....until now that is.<br />
I have been a busy little bee designing new invitations for the store. I have focused primarily on my most asked for themes, but have also branched out with some new trends. It has been soooo much fun. I think I might get carried away - or maybe I already have wink wink.<br />
Look for more designs coming your way. Water bottle lables and cupcake toppers are in the works. Any suggests are more than welcome!!Poppylop Partieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08755975314945822185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7715595171702763921.post-29903700611194575212012-03-11T14:38:00.000-07:002012-03-11T14:38:53.725-07:00Dani's Pics<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xGY6ZblrGlw/T10adA1IG_I/AAAAAAAAAP4/jJiBRyp97nA/s1600/Funnovation%2B%2528106%2Bof%2B112%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xGY6ZblrGlw/T10adA1IG_I/AAAAAAAAAP4/jJiBRyp97nA/s320/Funnovation%2B%2528106%2Bof%2B112%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />

I was shocked to learn that Oreo's are now 100 years old. That is a long time for one cookie. Of course, I am pretty sure that there aren't too many of us out there that hasn't had them at least once. (some of us more than we should) Golden Oreo's got me through my pregnancy with my daughter - copious amounts of them. !!!<br />
Oreo's have come a long way from just dipping. There are so many different ways they have been re-invented by some of the most creative minds around. If you are having a party and are looking for some unique ideas for treats try some of these.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">Oreo cookie Balls. I was a little hesitant at first, but seriously these little gems are so addictive - (Maybe that's not a selling point) They are super easy to make and so flexible. Like cake pops they can be put on a stick and decorated for any holiday, theme or season. They would be a great addition to any party.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Finally, the newest way I have found to use Oreo's is to dress them up with a chocolate coating. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ij0uXCSNaTg/T0Oeo5eaxiI/AAAAAAAAANg/E13alP5tP2c/s1600/Fa,ily+Day12+011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ij0uXCSNaTg/T0Oeo5eaxiI/AAAAAAAAANg/E13alP5tP2c/s320/Fa,ily+Day12+011.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I gathered my dream team who did not dissapoint. Everyone had smiles and were so into the event and involved. It was amazing. The true spirit of the event was felt by all.<br />
The kids loved dancing and the "CAT" walk - the limbo was a hit Maude and Brian from <a href="http://www.qualityentertainment.ca/">Quality Entertainment</a>. The Energy was phenomenal. I can hardly wait to see the photos that were taken by <a href="http://www.danigirl.ca/">Daniel</a><br />
I also cannot say enough about the Old Navy Rideau staff. What a team Paul, Nat and Priya were awesome and so accomodating to the staff. Thank you.<br />
Let's do it again next year??!!!Poppylop Partieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08755975314945822185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7715595171702763921.post-57805294570897695752012-02-15T17:31:00.000-08:002012-02-15T17:31:39.324-08:00Family Day FunWe are so excited to be staffing the <a href="http://www.bunchfamily.ca/plans-family-day-old-navy-funnovation-imaginarium/">Old Navy Funovation Imaginarium</a> on Monday Feb. 20th. What could be better than a free event made for families on Family day.<br />
The event promises to be a hoot. There will be a great creative craft where the children are building their own robots. A Kookie Cookie bar... yummo and so much more.<br />

I love my kids and I love LOVE day!! What's a valentine's day without a party. I am seriously looking forward to my daughter's Valentine's Tea party. I made a cute <a href="http://www.smilebox.com/">Smilebox</a> invitation with one of the pictures one of my favourite photographers took at our local candy sotre. Gotta love <a href="http://www.sugarmountain.ca/">Sugar Mountain</a>!! It was fun.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c_95QOhRu2s/Tzhok0QjcWI/AAAAAAAAAL0/JutgsbdN740/s1600/28.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c_95QOhRu2s/Tzhok0QjcWI/AAAAAAAAAL0/JutgsbdN740/s320/28.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>This cute photo gave me the idea to finally have my daughters school friends over. She has been asking for while and I finally decided I needed to take time to make time!! So off I went to put together a hopefully fun and cute tea party. (I almost forgot about the tea party part oops) Here are a few sneak peaks.<br />

The party is on Tuesday. Let's hope that 7 little girls and one little boy will fall in love with everything as I have.Poppylop Partieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08755975314945822185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7715595171702763921.post-22931250660719202982011-07-21T04:24:00.000-07:002011-07-21T04:24:39.282-07:00Fast and FuriousLife is just crazy these days. What happened to the lazy days of summer? Oh, we'll it is all pretty exciting stuff. After the successful Ice cream Bash I thought it might be a quiet summer, but no... now we are happily neck deep in Super Stars. We are developing our first ROCK STAR party for a beautiful 9 year old to be. She is gorgeous and full of life - definately most real rock stars could learn from her!!!<br />
This one is a tough one for a control freak who will be on vacation during the party. UGH, I won't be there. I may not be able to concentrate on relaxing!!! I am sure that my new event staff will do a great job. She is amazing!!!<br />
Next we are helping out with the styling of a friends Breast Cancer Corn roast fundraiser on Sat. I am soooo looking forward to this. We are going to turn this into a sea of PINK!!!! I love it! I will post some pictures when I get them.<br />
Paper Straws....oooh they are amazingly cute and just perfect for any party and coincedently flying off the shelves. It has only been a few weeks since we brought in our new line of straws, push-pop containers and popcorn bags and they are <span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">FLYING</span> off the shelves!! Get them while they are still in stock.<br />
Finally, my gorgeous daughter big 4th is coming at lightening speed. Jessie Rainbow party is well on it's way. I am super excited about the theme. Cowgirl meets rainbow. Her imagination rocks.<br />
I'll keep you posted on all the deets. We don't have too many pics yet, but it's all in process!! Stay tuned.Poppylop Partieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08755975314945822185noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7715595171702763921.post-30346480596329270142011-07-04T09:19:00.000-07:002011-07-04T09:19:22.623-07:00Sweetest Ice Cream SocialThis was the funnest party to do. Little K loves pink and so do I. We made this fun pink ice cream social for her 4th birthday party. With help from my friends <a href="http://www.cakepopsbypam.ca/">Cake Pops By Pam</a> and Marie. A lot of inspiration from my favorite sites including <a href="http://www.pizzazerie.com/">Pizzazerie</a> and<a href="http://www.tipjunkie.com/"> Tip Junkie.</a> (always so brilliant and inspirational) The ice cream cone hats were so easy to make and the girls loved them. I definately recommend them. Have a look.<br />

This is my lawn..</div><div class="separator" style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZanyI0AQ_nI/TgxwKGgowcI/AAAAAAAAAG8/8YvVQUgnIoc/s1600/290.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" i$="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZanyI0AQ_nI/TgxwKGgowcI/AAAAAAAAAG8/8YvVQUgnIoc/s320/290.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: center;">It makes my kids sad.</div><div class="separator" style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: left;">I have tried and tried to make it green and luscious. I have not had much luck as you can see. Most of that green is actually weed. Ya, ya, there is a grass, a tuff here and there, but not really a great place to look at or play on. </div><div class="separator" style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: left;"> This is where you come in. I need your votes. I have entered a contest to win a new lawn and sprinkler system to keep it green. All I need is votes. In return, if I win, I will send out a prize to the winner. 12 push-pop containers and a dozen paper straws. Help me out and make my kids happy. Leave a comment saying you left a comment so I know who to reward!!</div><div class="separator" style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: left;">Update - we are at 35 votes. Kepp them coming. There is a month left to vote and voting can take place once an hour!!!!</div>Poppylop Partieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08755975314945822185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7715595171702763921.post-52504199189216319802011-04-23T15:01:00.000-07:002011-04-23T15:01:24.441-07:00Easter at our place<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cn8WUbeB-gU/TbM8omOKBZI/AAAAAAAAAE0/G_0tBG12TEA/s1600/IMG_0033.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5598885429904016786" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cn8WUbeB-gU/TbM8omOKBZI/AAAAAAAAAE0/G_0tBG12TEA/s320/IMG_0033.JPG" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; cursor: hand; display: block; height: 214px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 320px;" /></a></div><div>I've been meaning to post all of our Easter activities over the past week of so, since I haven't, there's now a lot here. Consider yourself warned {hee hee}</div><div>So we haven't had much of a Spring here yet, so I decided that we would do our best to brighten our world up for Spring and Easter. Lots of paint and dye was used.</div><br />
<div>We started out by making new homes for our bird friends. We have been building our house for the past few years and the birdies have become accustomed to building their nests where ever they see fit. This year however, there is actually soffit on the porch and most oles are filled {except for the places way up high where my husband is still batteling with the pigeons} Now the poor robins are building their nests on top of light fixtures where they are falling off or being scared because we keep coming through the door. Anyways.........enough about that. So, I decided that I would get some REAL birdhouses for the kids to decorate. BIG HIT. Just look at the facial expressions during this activity.</div></div></div></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OhBfNpeJues/TbM_ragQVXI/AAAAAAAAAE8/kSBS8EyQ1fs/s1600/IMG_0031.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5598888776833193330" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OhBfNpeJues/TbM_ragQVXI/AAAAAAAAAE8/kSBS8EyQ1fs/s320/IMG_0031.JPG" style="display: block; height: 214px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center; width: 320px;" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kGgFt_m2Zto/TbM__3gEdVI/AAAAAAAAAFE/9O5_1MZ643E/s1600/IMG_0030.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5598889128214426962" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kGgFt_m2Zto/TbM__3gEdVI/AAAAAAAAAFE/9O5_1MZ643E/s320/IMG_0030.JPG" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; display: block; height: 214px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center; width: 320px;" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7g4KPWbTOfk/TbNCNup1isI/AAAAAAAAAFM/e3ERrqdfSM4/s1600/IMG_0037.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="133" i8="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7g4KPWbTOfk/TbNCNup1isI/AAAAAAAAAFM/e3ERrqdfSM4/s200/IMG_0037.JPG" width="200" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_9dZIUb98aM/TbNCazqqdOI/AAAAAAAAAFQ/U7HPenRVJX0/s1600/IMG_0035.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="133" i8="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_9dZIUb98aM/TbNCazqqdOI/AAAAAAAAAFQ/U7HPenRVJX0/s200/IMG_0035.JPG" width="200" /></a>So It was a big hit. Now if only we could get them hung up!!</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VoaGh0qJjTQ/TbNFA6YEXBI/AAAAAAAAAFY/ByADNrDAx_o/s1600/IMG_0052.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" i8="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VoaGh0qJjTQ/TbNFA6YEXBI/AAAAAAAAAFY/ByADNrDAx_o/s320/IMG_0052.JPG" width="320" /></a>Next up, we dyed our eggs. After all what Easter week would be complete without smae personalized eggs. We had a great time experimenting with different process'. We started off by dying a few eggs so that they could get an idea of how it works. Although they have done it before, they are still young enough that they still needed reminding.<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M3aoz65Kuzs/TbNEiAA7z3I/AAAAAAAAAFU/hxwCigB3b2c/s1600/IMG_0044.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" i8="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M3aoz65Kuzs/TbNEiAA7z3I/AAAAAAAAAFU/hxwCigB3b2c/s320/IMG_0044.JPG" width="320" /></a>Next up, we used crayons, tape, stickers {which I don't recommend} and elastics. This is where it got fun. The kids each drew pictures with the crayon and then put it in the dye. You know, like crayon resist pictures. The children were thrilled with the results. They "WOW'd" "OOOOOOOOOO'd" and AWWED'd...literally!! It was so much fun to listen to them.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IG7J2eLOhAk/TbNGuwNlIDI/AAAAAAAAAFg/OrSoDES-k5w/s1600/IMG_0046.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" i8="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IG7J2eLOhAk/TbNGuwNlIDI/AAAAAAAAAFg/OrSoDES-k5w/s320/IMG_0046.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

I definately should have been proud. They looked great!! <div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">I especially loved the elastic egg. I highly recommend using elastics around the eggs like tye dye!! They turned out fabulous.</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">Next we made our Chickie Bags to hold the Easter treats for school. I just recently got a <a href="http://www.silhouette.com/">Silhouette SD</a> It is my new favourite toy. I found a cute Easter chick package, so I cut it out and the kids embellished. What do you think?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7gR9Tge4FnI/TbNJZlfrkGI/AAAAAAAAAF4/Kxk6TlP12TI/s1600/IMG_0082.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" i8="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7gR9Tge4FnI/TbNJZlfrkGI/AAAAAAAAAF4/Kxk6TlP12TI/s320/IMG_0082.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LJc8enqzqzg/TbNJkbsUhsI/AAAAAAAAAF8/nPRdrOamhFo/s1600/IMG_0085.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" i8="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LJc8enqzqzg/TbNJkbsUhsI/AAAAAAAAAF8/nPRdrOamhFo/s320/IMG_0085.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>I didn't take a picture with the bags filled, but we put Mini Eggs and Jelly Beans inside.<br />
At Easter we celebrate with my hubbies family with a pot-luck lunch We always take something along the dessert line since I love to bake. This year is no different. We make Easter cookies, push-pop cakes and easter cupcakes with easter eggs hidden inside. They all turned out great. I am especially crushing on the blue icing on the cupcakes. Let's hope it will all be yummy. We will find out tomorrow.<br />

They cover many different topics that are timely for Canadian parents. I was honoured to be asked to be on focus in the Ottawa edition. Jennifer said that they are always looking for new local business' that would be of interest to parents in the region. It is great to be considered THAT business. The article should be out soon. I will post a link to it when it is available. There is a button on the side that you can go to and vote for me. Could you? Would you? It would make me happy and get some exposure for this new venture of mine. I would greatly appreciate it. On the other side of things we now have a wonderful graphic designer doing invitations for me. My son came home yesterday with the most fabulous birthday invitation. I am not sure who was more excited, myself or my son. It was gorgeous, so personalized and fit the theme perfectly. There was no company name on the invitation so I hopped on the phone and called the mother. It turns out that is was her sister who did the invitation and does it as a home business while she is at home with her 1 year old. I immediately sent her and email. I was so excited about her work. It turns out that she is excited to so, I would like to welcome Serendipity Designs to the Poppylop team. Welcome aboard. We look forward to you wonderful works of art.Poppylop Partieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08755975314945822185noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7715595171702763921.post-19694925253896541042011-03-27T15:16:00.000-07:002011-03-27T15:21:24.191-07:00The reviews are in<p align="center"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ncWBZH_dmmg/TY-38Y9lcdI/AAAAAAAAADQ/H8LfVGA8Vv8/s1600/lauren%2527s%2Bparty.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 252px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5588887910710866386" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ncWBZH_dmmg/TY-38Y9lcdI/AAAAAAAAADQ/H8LfVGA8Vv8/s320/lauren%2527s%2Bparty.jpg" /></a></p>The girls had a great time. All went well. YAY. I love happy children!! Some wouldn't take off the skirts, the treasure hunt was a success, they danced, they ate and everyone left happy. Even mom was happy. I came across these a few weeks back and HAD to have them for someones party.... will it be you? I looked around and found that everyone was out of stock ---ug. Then I found the wonderful Kate from <a href="http://http//www.etsy.com/shop/CupKatesEventDesign">CupKatesEventDesign</a> on Etsy. Thank goodness for her. She sent me a whole wack of them and in no time flat. I think I received the order withing 5 days. Not too shabby. Thank you Kate.</div><br /><br /><div>These are called Push ups (no not the female kind). These hold yummy delish cake and icing. They fit any theme and can be customized with lables, bow and whatever else your imagination desires. I have seen them used for pirate parties and princess parties, but they can also be used for adult parties. The flexibility of use here is never ending. </div><a href="http://www.jbprince.com/images/R746ALT4.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 148px; HEIGHT: 145px; CURSOR: hand" border="0" alt="" src="http://www.jbprince.com/images/R746ALT4.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div>One thing that I think will be popular with them is that they reduce mess and waste. They have lids, so that if children don't finish all their cake (can you imagine NOT finishing cake) they can put the lid on and take it home. Also, the crumbs stay in the container reducing the chance of having to chase those nasty cake crumbs all over the place after the party. (Nice eh!!)</div><br /><div>We are not limited to just cake here either. I am thinking ice cream, pudding parfaits...oooh the list goes on. Can you tell I'm excited about this one? Yup I am. Are you too?</div><br /><br /><div></div></div>Poppylop Partieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08755975314945822185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7715595171702763921.post-90395938015619650312011-03-16T06:37:00.000-07:002011-03-16T06:37:32.578-07:00Poppylop Parties: Recipes For Fun<a href="http://poppylopparties.blogspot.com/2011/03/recipes-for-fun.html?spref=bl">Poppylop Parties: Recipes For Fun</a>: "Bubbles - Spring and Bubbles, For some reason I think the two go together.
